From the moment Chris Lamont got his grubby-meathooks on my film, he started running & hiding. He moved, changed his phone (and had it unlisted), and stopped returning my calls. It wasn't long before Chris had disappeared, ...with my film.
I couldn't believe he'd actually do it (try to make off with my film). After all, we were in the middle of making a movie, we had grown up together, I had even helped raise money for his family with charity events (including a Phoenix film festival). How can you steal from your only friend?
" there's nothing you can do about it,
my wife's a lawyer & my mom works for the police"
~ Chris LaMont
I was really hoping that after all this time Chris would have realized that what he did was wrong. I truly wish he had grown up to become a man, and was willing to make this right. Especially now that he has fathered the collateral that he promised me. But alas, he just takes off running again and hides behind women's skirts like a little child.
Chris LaMont is either a two-bit scumbag and common thief, or a real idiot. Either way, he has caused me the loss of personal property that is very special and important to me. I feel he owes me just a bit more than a half-ass apology and explanation. In addition, I don't think it's entirely true that I can do nothing about it. Perhaps someone will help, perhaps I can spare some other young person from being defrauded, or at the very least I can spread a little truth even if it's negative.
